Upon seeing the lovely new neighbour, Anthony, I asked him if he knew anyone in his profession (a plumber) that might be able to help me finish the job once and for all. He said his brother, Charlie, should be able to give me a hand!!!! He phoned him then and there and as it was the first game of State of Origin, he was coming around to pick him up to watch the match. The boys both came in and had a look and Charlie said he would be able to start Saturday week. All bar the first weekend because of rain, Charlie showed up - true to his promise on Saturday 14/6/14 and started the room. He was unable to remove the windows due to rain earlier in the day but so far, things were moving along famously!!!!!
It also appears that the very original house verandah was underneath the floor. One can only imagine how old it was for it to have been in the condition that it was in before Pop Burke put the carpet down and made the "sewing room". Fascinating :-)
